my mom had surgery this morning for a torn rotator cuff, which has been planned for a while but still worried me a little. she’s fine, although still groggy and on some pretty heavy-duty painkillers. the tear wasn’t as bad as they thought it might be so they were able to do a less involved surgery, which hopefully means a faster recovery. they also took out some arthritis and i believe a bone spur, so she should be feeling much better overall once everything heals up.
so the firefly and i spent some time in the great outdoors today, which was a great way to get my mind off of things. we went frisbee golfing with our sisters and a friend and had a ton of fun, as usual–although we were limited on time and had to cut the game short. but it was a beautiful evening, and the sunset was lovely.
i’m really looking forward to my half day at work tomorrow. and i’m performing tomorrow night. it’s the first time in over a year, so i’m actually a bit nervous. we’ll see how it goes. after that, the rest of the weekend will be spent relaxing with my wife. or working on the bathroom remodel with my wife. or doing homework by myself. but in any case it will be the weekend, and that’s always a good thing!
