The inspector showed up today and passed us for all the HVAC stuff. Firefly didn’t get much sleep, but at least it’s done. Now we can start insulating and working toward the final inspection for that. Waiting for inspectors sucks. It takes so long for them to show up sometimes, you never know what time of day they’ll get there, and you can’t really work on other things while you’re waiting. We have gotten a few things done like installing the skylight, which definitely makes a difference, but haven’t been able to have a day where we were really able to work.
I suppose it’s not a terrible thing that we haven’t been able to work in the evenings because I’ve had more time to do my reading and work on homework assignments earlier in the day. Last night I got on a roll with the story I was working on and didn’t go to bed until almost 2 a.m. Firefly didn’t get to bed until around 3:30 this afternoon, although I think she got some restless sleep before the inspector showed, so I read from the time I got home from work until she got up at 8. I’ve already submitted my writing assignments for the week for both of my classes, one of them on Sunday and the other this afternoon, and they weren’t due until tomorrow by noon so that’s definitely a good thing. I’m managing to keep up even though it’s a pretty heavy workload.
We have the US tomorrow to see what’s going on in Firefly’s ovaries, and if all goes well we should be triggering and doing the first insem by the end of this week. I’m leaving work a couple hours early so I can come home and we can go to the appointment together. Eeee!
