Well, we have a plan and that’s something. The doc is switching Firefly to tamo.xifen for one cycle. He said there’s no reason she shouldn’t be pregnant at this point since everything so far looks great in terms of numbers and tests, and he doesn’t want to keep her on the Clo.mid any longer. He could have sent her for a lapar.oscopy to check for endom.etriosis, but she’s had quite a few tests done and he hasn’t seen any signs of anything at all so he doesn’t think the expense is warranted at this point. If we have a few more tries with no luck then we’ll consider it.
If this try doesn’t work he’s moving her directly to Foll.istim injectables. We’ve got the pen starter kit and I’ve already read the instructions. The nurse also gave us contact info for a couple of direct order companies that will work with her insurance to check for coverage and such, will ship overnight directly to the house so we don’t have to buy it ahead of time and can wait to make sure that we need it, and will be cheaper than going to the neighborhood chain if it isn’t covered–which is good because this stuff is not cheap. We’ve been really lucky that a lot of what we thought wouldn’t be covered has been so far, but this will likely not be one of those things. Statistically our chances are greater with Foll.istim, but then again so are the incidences of multiples (which we’d like to avoid if at all possible), and it means more blood tests and more frequent trips to the office for U/Ss to try and regulate everything to reduce that risk. We and the doc are hoping that her full coverage will kick in if we get to that point, although we might still have one more cycle to go depending on how they count everything.
I’m feeling hopeful again. This is going to be The One.
Right?
