We had a good time at the baby shower–or I did at least, I suppose I shouldn’t speak for Firefly where these things are concerned. We played a fun game that was basically a whi.te elep.hant exchange, where they dealt out a deck of cards to everyone and when one of your cards was drawn you either picked a wrapped gift from a basket or took someone else’s. I got a deck of cards and a turtle water temperature tester–which will come in handy once we have a baby of our own, and I collect turtles so in the meantime it’s being added to the mix.
I also won the baby food tasting contest, which was the only thing we played that was a normal shower game. I got two decks of cards for that one. Firefly game in second. She got a word game that we were told one of us should take because it was called something about beavers and was basically a generic Ma.dlibs.
Other than that it was a lot of hanging out and chatting with folks. I realized, though, that I should have taken Spider her birthday present since the party was at her house, and we forgot about it the last time she was over. Oh, well. It’s only a few weeks late.
I’m going to apologize in advance because I know mommy-to-be follows this blog, but I must admit that I was a bit jealous seeing all of the cute baby clothes and blankets and such. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled for her and her husband, but I’m ready for the next step on our journey. Soon. Very, very soon.
