i’m too busy for my own good.

Work has been so crazy with trainings this week, and I have two more to give tomorrow and a bunch more on another campus all next week. At least my regular work is done for this week, so I don’t have that to worry about. I’ll just be training instead of my normal paperwork and filing catch-up. Next week is our normally slower week anyway, so it should be a lot less stressful than this week and hopefully I won’t have to work as much overtime–if any.

Spider and I had our first class tonight. It was pretty fun, although it was mostly just watching the teacher demonstrate some things and talking about what we’ll be doing. So far I really like the teacher. There are 6 people in the class including us: a mother and daughter, a woman who has a little experience already and is interested in starting her own business so she’s taking the class to improve, and another woman but I forget why she was interested in the class. We got a quick dinner beforehand, and then spent some time after looking at (and buying) some supplies and chatting with the teacher before heading out.

My dad came over this afternoon and he and Firefly got a bit of a start on the tiling, mostly figuring out where everything will go and doing a bit of cutting. He’s coming over in the morning since Firefly doesn’t have to go right to bed (she’ll be able to sleep tomorrow night), and my parents are going out of town so they can’t work on it later in the day. They’re going to get started on actually laying the floor and hopefully we’ll be able to get the main part of the floor down this weekend–although I have a ton of stuff left to do for school so I’ll be spending most of the weekend working on that and won’t be able to help much.

I have a math assignment and quiz due by tomorrow night and I’m going to try to spend time working on it tonight, but honestly I’ve got so many other things to do for my portfolio and I’m doing well enough in the class that I’m not going to worry about it if I don’t get it done. I really need to focus on the portfolio at this point.

My heart goes out to three people who have had recent losses. I know there is nothing I can say to make it better, but my thoughts are with them.

We’re still waiting, with some might-be-good signs and no sign of a definite no.
