Firefly just called. She just got off the phone with the OB, who had results from her blood test. She has tested positive for factor V Leiden. They’ve already scheduled an appointment with the high-risk OB on the 29th to talk about what it means and what we need to do.
I had never even heard of it before this month. Shit.

Damn it indeed. That’s a scary dx to get at any time, especially in the midst of pregnancy! I hope that she gets excellent care and monitoring, and of course has so symptoms or complications arise. Will be thinking about all three of you.

I think that’s what my SIL had (she just had her son this morning actually). She had to have either weekly or monthly (I don’t remember which) shots to thin her blood and they really wanted to avoid a c-section at all costs. You’re all three in my prayers though! Good luck at the Doc.
